Journeyman electrician is a trained professional. They can work alone on electrical systems. They install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
It takes about 4 to 5 years to become a journeyman. This includes completing an apprenticeship. You get hands-on training with us and classroom learning at SAIT.
You need a high school diploma or equivalent. Then, complete an apprenticeship program. Finally, you must pass an exam. Some areas may require additional work hours.
Exam prep means studying for your licensing exam. You’ll study electrical codes, safety standards, and wiring. There are books, online courses, and practice exams to help you prepare.
